This guy knows. I buy King Oscar brand sardines, they have a number of varieties, but the best are the kind that say "wild caught small sardines" since those are the smallest kind they sell.

Sardines are one of the best food sources available, they are cheap, and since they are small fish there is no risk of mercury poisoning, you can eat them every day. They are high in omega 3 and sardines are one of the richest sources of vitamin b12 on the planet, second only to certain mollusks like clams or mussels.

Very healthy and tasty, that's why I haven't removed the canned variety from my diet. I eat them right out of the can with hot sauce.
