I knew a muslim scientist. Or well, a muslim pursuing a science degree, back in my undergrad. Nice enough guy. But there is this weird thing where the Koran has to be true, and so it has to also be scientifically true, so there are some real logical stretches to make it agree with modern scientific thought.

Of course, in places where science is mostly silent, whatever the koran says, goes. He spent 2 hours one time trying to convince me that people used to live for hundreds of years and there were races of giants. This is in the tanakh as well as the tawrat but only idiots take it literally
