It did happen, just not the way that we are taught. My Grandfather was a fight engineer on a Halifax bomber in WW2. Before he passed, I brought up the possibility of the starvations in the camps being created by the allies bombing the railroads and infrastructure of Germany. I then thanked him for killing the Jews, sarcastically.
