Why can't Millennials make money?

I don't want to disrespect an entire generation, but in 2017 people age 19 to 34 years of old have had the lowest employment participation rate ever recorded.

So why can't Millennials make money?

Because most of us have been brainwashed by our phones, video games and media. Half of us are told that this is our time to have fun and not think about tomorrow, the others are told that some socialist uprising is in the works and they just have to keep spreading the cause on faceberg

Not to mention, kids these days think too highly of themselves to get normal entry level jobs like McDonald's or Walmart, they want to either go to college and THEN make a life plan, or pursue careers that don't require them to actually work.

I know this is probably a slide thread, but I just wanted to vent a bit

They do make money, they just spend it on bullshit like $600 cell phones and EDM festivals. This is why they are poor.

because living in a big city in a first world country is crazy fucking expensive, you dumb fucking cunt

Work doesn't pay. I'm an unpaid intern. Basically everyone is working for peanuts now, and the cost of living is high. I'm leaving Canada for Europe because of it.

Because most jobs are being automated by AI, most developed countries are talking about providing universal basic income.

Less jobs, more automation, low wages compared to ever increasing cost of living, outsourcing, existing workforce not retiring or even coming back into work, take your pick.
More and more companies are seeing people come out of retirement or stay at home moms returning to the workforce.
Most jobs don't last for a full career like they used to, and a huge number of millennials either will never have a good opportunity with a 401k and investment, or they don't know how or want to make use of those.
The wider marketplace means more options and higher standards, did you know even call centre jobs are requiring a degree now? Did you know that without a degree, your climbing in companies is limited, and they'll hire someone into the spot above you instead of promoting?

Also people assume automation = assembly lines, service etc, but it's everywhere. Look at jobs like administrative assisstants, there used to be tons of those jobs and you could do well with one company. Now there's one person for entire departments. Why pay someone to organise your calendar and schedule when you have an app for it? Why have a dedicated travel planner when it takes 10 minutes with Google flights?

Every app or new digital convenience makes its millions by putting people out of work. When you look at the shifts in work supply/demand, combined with lowered value and ever increasing costs, it's no surprise result.

The market is a bigger issue than the lazy hipsters thing, but that social stuff matters too. It's just not the main issue like you see a lot on here.

More vidya, more gadgets more party. But If you do have communication skills or """""creativity""""", pitch an obscure IoT product like Juicero and you might retire at your 20s

Obamas dark net unmasked all the producers and the legacy media is bleeding the true talent dry

Cultural Marxist programming Saddled with (((Christian))) moors.

Basically the Jews mindfucked an entire generation.

Ohh and the institutions systematically discriminated against its best and brightest of white men to destroy and subvert them to allow for affirmative action.

This all culminated in a largely unproductive and wasted generation.

>Public education doesn't teach personal finance.
>Prescription Pill dependency
>Shit economy
>Cost of living too high
>Dumb degrees
>Mentally stunted
>Lazy parents
>Shit diet
>Lack of real world skills

most Millennials are affected by this but we're a big generation and not all of us are mummy's bitch.
