What exactly happens to mankind when we run out of fossil fuels?

I mean really? Its beat into my head every day that renewable energy is some sort of folly that will never work.

Alright, so then what?

Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that all the energy magnates of the future will be trying to beat the same "try to live less" philosophy into our culture then that the left tries to do now?

The absence of energy is the absence of civilization, and without that, we will be encourage to devolve into roving packs of apes, no? Government will simply take what they want for militaries to guard the elite ventures leaving the rest of us to forage like animals.

A life without energy will again be sold as a moral social virtue. Just like every other ration-for-the-war bullshit scam we were ever sold.

It is coming, you know. If there is not some new technology- probably just some dim-witted elaboration on what we already have- the wars will be bloody. If you think there is third world disparity now...
