>>
Begin with the New International Version. It's easier to read. Then read the deuterocanonical books in The New American bible.
>>
>>135465724

For knowledge probably NIV with commentary on EVERY SINGLE BOOK. The bible alone is impossible without a deeper understanding of hebrew religious practice and tradition. Also you need a deeper understanding of the original language it was written in.
>>
IF you are halfway intelligent it is best to read a literal translation
>>
>>135465724

You're not going to find knowledge on a book written by and about sandkikes. If you think a society's morality comes from religion and not the other way around, you might as well kill yourself now.
>>
Just start reading at the New Testament.
Because everything you read in the Old Testament "no longer applies to the real world." so it's a waste of time.

Douay Rheims Bible.
It was the first ever English Bible, and relies on the Septuagint instead of the Rabbinical Masoretic texts. Stay away from Prot Bibles like the KJV and NIV. Protestants took books out of the Bible and added words in, plus King James was a raging faggot.

It's important to understand that simply reading the bible won't change your life.

It's just a book, although one from God so it has potential.

If you want to see and feel the holy spirit act in your life you need to commit to a Christian lifestyle which means trying to lead a life from of sin and always taking in knowledge of God.

"Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen."
>2 Peter 3:18

As for which bible to use, find the one that is easiest for you to read while also being used by scholars for research.

It's important to understand the difference between versions and translations.
Versions tend to be edited to the version creators likings while translations follow much stricter rules.

Revelation 18:1-3 - New Living Translation

"After all this I saw another angel come down from heaven with great authority, and the earth grew bright with his splendor. He gave a mighty shout:

“Babylon is fallen—that great city is fallen!
She has become a home for demons.
She is a hideout for every foul spirit,
a hideout for every foul vulture
and every foul and dreadful animal.

For all the nations have fallen
because of the wine of her passionate immorality.
The kings of the world
have committed adultery with her.
Because of her desires for extravagant luxury,
the merchants of the world have grown rich.”

Revelation 18:1:3 - LOLCat version

"Then anothr hovr d00d comed down. He wuz shini. He wuz liek "Babylon haz fallend n she iz full of evil spiritz. She wuz so sexi she gotted evribodi drunk.

The LOLCat version while funny, isn't okay for serious study.
Matthew chapters 5 through 7 will teach you how to properly pray.
I wish you the best, OP!

I'd rather deal with atheists than fake Christians that only read the NT and think being a Sunday Christian suffices. Retarded heretics need to stay away from Christianity. The Old Testament is a MUST read and Jesus clearly approved of it. Don't be intimidated by liberal cucks to discard a part of Christianity just to look politically correct, makes you worse than them.

This. It loses some context here and there but is by far the most readable. Ask questions as you read it about who wrote each part - its fascinating. Especially the gospels. I didn't believe it until I read it wondering who wrote each one and what the similarities and differences said about the authenticity of each gospel--sort of like interrogating two witnesses in the same story and figuring out what was true and what each person embellished

To only read the New Testament would be conceding defeat to heretics and their anti-Christian ways.

We can know if a Bible is of God by what they say about Jesus Christ.
>(1 John 4:3 KJV) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

We can also look at the source material. Manuscripts from Alexandria Egypt are different from the manuscripts from Antioch Syria and Acts 18:24-28 mentions Alexandria. Pic related.

The New Mass was made with the help of a few Protestant advisors to make it more Prot friendly, that's why it's so banal.
You have to be careful with solo Bible study though, as with most people there's always the possibility your internal monologue will end up reading what it wants to hear, and this contradicts the fact that God has a will separate, and often times in contradiction, with our own.
The Latin Mass is extremely edifying, but Pope Francis is trying to have it banned again.

>1606 – King James I of England began a relationship with Robert Carr, 1st Earl of Somerset.[12] Carr happened to break his leg at a tilting match, at which the king was present. The king instantly fell in love with the young man, even helping nurse him back to health all the while teaching him Latin. Entirely devoid of all high intellectual qualities, Carr was endowed with good looks, excellent spirits, and considerable personal accomplishments. These advantages were sufficient for James, who knighted the young man and at once took him into favour. James made his lover Viscount of Rochester (1611), Knight of the Garter and Earl of Somerset (1613).[13]
1614 – King James I of England met the last of his three close male lovers, George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham, the son of a Leicestershire knight. George Villiers could dance well, fence well, and speak a little French. In August, Villiers, reputedly "the handsomest-bodied man in all of England",[14] was brought before the king, in the hope that the king would take a fancy to him, diminishing the power at court of then favourite Robert Carr, 1st Earl of Somerset. Villiers gained support as the king's preferred lover from those who opposed Carr.
1615 – King James knighted his male lover George Villiers as a Gentleman of the Bedchamber. Restoration of Apethorpe Hall, undertaken 2004–2008, revealed a previously unknown passage linking the bedchambers of King James I of England and Villiers.[15]
1617 – King James made his male lover George Villiers Earl of Buckingham
1618 – King James made his male lover George Villiers Marquess of Buckingham.
1623 – King James made his male lover George Villiers Earl of Coventry and Duke of Buckingham. Villiers was now the highest-ranking subject outside the royal family

Also, why do the jews in the OT follow paternal lines (blank, son of so and so) but modern jews follow maternal lines? Did the synagogue of satan really take over?

>Martin Luther also took note of the similarities between Islam and Protestantism in the rejection of idols, although he noted Islam was much more drastic in its complete rejection of images. In On War against the Turk, Luther is actually less critical of the Turks than he is of the Pope, whom he calls an anti-Christ, or the Jews, whom he describes as "the Devil incarnate".[16] He urges his contemporaries to also see the good aspects in the Turks, and refers to some who were favourable to the Ottoman Empire, and "who actually want the Turk to come and rule, because they think that our German people are wild and uncivilized - indeed that they are half-devil and half-man".[17]

The Ottomans also felt closer to the Protestants than to the Catholics. At one point, a letter was sent from Suleiman the Magnificent to the "Lutherans" in Flanders, claiming that he felt close to them, "since they did not worship idols, believed in one God and fought against the Pope and Emperor".[18][19]

They literally meet up, drink coffee, and shitpost all over that site. The ringleader of one group that did this was a Jewish new yorker with a sociology degree.

>In a 1574 letter to the "Members of the Lutheran sect in Flanders and Spain", Murad III made considerable efforts to highlight the similarities between Islamic and Protestants principles. He wrote:

>"As you, for your part, do not worship idols, you have banished the idols and portraits and "bells" from churches, and declared your faith by stating that God Almighty is one and Holy Jesus is His Prophet and Servant, and now, with heart and soul, are seeking and desirous of the true faith; but the faithless one they call Papa does not recognize his Creator as One, ascribing divinity to Holy Jesus (upon him be peace!), and worshiping idols and pictures which he has made with his own hands, thus casting doubt upon the oneness of God and instigating how many servants to that path of error"

Actually there are 26 different versions of the Arabic Koran and most Muslims use the Cairo Edition that is barely a hundred years old.

If yo wanted to actually read it to understand it, then you would still need to figure out which English translation you want to read. The English translations that practising Muslims prefer are objectively inferior than the more scholarly and accurate translations you can get.

>"We take the Bible and we look at those things and we see that one of the exciting things for us is that prophecy of scripture is being fulfilled," Waller says.

>Many evangelical Christians believe that the end of days and the coming of the Messiah will center around Israel. And they interpret the foundation of the Jewish state as biblical prophecy becoming reality.

>Fundamentally, the Protestant Dutch had strong antagonisms to both the Catholics and the Muslims. In some cases however, alliances, or attempts at alliance between the Dutch and the Muslims were made possible, as when the Dutch allied with the Muslims of the Moluccas to oust the Portuguese,[28] and the Dutch became rather tolerant of the Islamic religion in their colonial possessions after the final subjugation of Macassar in 1699.[29]

>During the Dutch Revolt, the Dutch were under such a desperate situation that they looked for help from every nationality, and "indeed even a Turk", as wrote the secretary of Jan van Nassau.[30] The Dutch saw Ottoman successes against the Habsburgs with great interest, and saw Ottoman campaigns in the Mediterranean as an indicator of relief on the Dutch front

>On a micro level, Hayovel (Hebrew for “jubilee”) participants are a valuable source of free labor that gives a boost to Israeli farmers as well as a growing number of settlement boutique wineries. On a macro theological level, the volunteers see themselves as joining forces with fervent Jewish ideologues to hasten the coming of the Messiah through working the land. Despite that, some Orthodox rabbis in the West Bank have bristled at their presence.

>Hayovel is part of the vision of Tommy Waller, a former FedEx employee turned organic tomato farmer. About a decade ago, Waller was inspired by the sight of an Israeli farmer working in a vineyard near the settlement of Har Bracha, an M-16 slung over his back. So he convinced his wife Sherri to sell their 37-acre farm, move their 11 kids in with their parents, and figure out a way to get to Israel.

>“He said, ‘We have to go there to help them,’” even though the couple had been taught, based on their Evangelical beliefs, that the Jews “needed to be saved,” said Sherri Waller. “On a gut level, we felt that these people have faith and we needed to help them.”

I see you are very angry based on your posts but i will give it a try to reason with you.
First you gotta explain what YOU in particular define as papist? Other than that, you are throwing away most of christian history because 1 rebel decided, "you know this is not how it should be" and revised the rules, it did not happen, a month later, or a year or 1000 years, it happened 1500 years later. I am sure you are born into protestant family(if orthodox similar deal applies), so the reason is clear why you defend it, but it does not make it right. Nor should you invert and adjust your arguments to be able to call catholics heretical.

Depends on what you can handle, I would say stick to a language you know and start New Testament before Old, (there is intercrossing, similar themes and foreshadowing between the two). If you can do full or partial in the original language do so. Versions like Interlinear are intended to help you understand some of the original language and compare it to translation.

If you just want a simple English version to get the basics: I suggest NIV.

>The Shimabara Rebellion (島原の乱 Shimabara no ran) was an uprising in what is now Nagasaki Prefecture in southwestern Japan lasting from December 17, 1637, to April 15, 1638, during the Edo period. It largely involved peasants, most of them Catholic Christians.

>The shogunate troops then requested aid from the Dutch, who first gave them gunpowder, and then cannons.[12] Nicolaes Couckebacker, Opperhoofd of the Dutch factory on Hirado, provided the gunpowder and cannons, and when the shogunate forces requested that he send a vessel, he personally accompanied the vessel de Ryp to a position offshore, near Hara Castle.[12] The cannons sent previously were mounted in a battery, and an all-out bombardment of the fortress commenced, both from the shore guns as well as from the 20 guns of the de Ryp

>After the castle fell, the shogunate forces beheaded an estimated 37,000 rebels and sympathizers. Amakusa Shirō's severed head was taken to Nagasaki for public display, and the entire complex at Hara Castle was burned to the ground and buried together with the bodies of all the dead.[18]

>Because the shogunate suspected that European Catholics had been involved in spreading the rebellion, Portuguese traders were driven out of the country. The policy of national seclusion was made more strict by 1639.[19] An existing ban on the Christian religion was then enforced stringently, and Christianity in Japan survived only by going underground.

Can't deny that statement. Definetly more copy of this book than people able to see through the parables.

Few things about the Bible:
-It's divided in 2 big parts: Old Testament (jews) and New Testament (Jesus & friends)
In old testament "Law" and "Wisdom" are interesting "History" is unreadable.
Actually recommend reading the whole New Testament. It start off with Gospel basically Jesus's life. Normally (not sure about english bible) it should be written in 4 different ways/authors Matthew, Marc, Luc and Jean so just pick one if you don't wanna reread same stuff. Then it's basically the stories of Jesus's apostles and how christianism was born.
Also it has a pretty cool ending actually untopped to this day
The Revelation: Apocalypse
.

You're best bet is to stick with the King James. It's based off of the Textus Receptus so it's by far the most accurate ENGLISH translation we have.

Here's why I don't agree with any of the modern versions. They don't make things easier to understand they make things harder because of their blatant removal of passages, changes of doctrine and even adding to doctrine that wasn't even originally there.

Not to mention any tampering with God's word is flat out a terrible thing to do and is preached against.

>Revelation 22:18 (KJV)
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Now on to our contradictions list in these new versions...

>Titus 3:10 (KJV)
A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject.

>Titus 3:10 (NKJV)
Reject a DIVISIVE man after the first and second admonition.

>Luke 12:51 (KJV)
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather DIVISION

Did you catch that? The NKJV says to reject a divisive man and then in the King James Jesus is talking about coming to bring division. Clear contradiction, didn't make anything easier.

>1 John 5:7 (KJV)
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

>1 John 5:7-8 (NIV)
For there are three that testify:

Did you catch that? They removed the whole concept of the trinity! That's a basic fundamental doctrine that they tampered with. It didn't make anything easier to understand, all it did was distort and confuse.

Church are the people, that is the clear definition since forever, so lets be honest with each other rather than "m-my c-c-church is better than y-yours". Yes vatican is masonic, infiltrated, has literal figting going on between its priests and we know that due to their reports of saying satan entered the church, wants to destroy it, etc etc. Makes complete sense due to everything that current day pope does is exact opposite to what older popes did/said. That should not make people switch to different rules. You already have people who consider pre-vatican II to be the real church. No,, our logic is, if god is the almighty creator, then we all are his children. And like a parent doesn't keep himself away from helping his children in any way, so is the thing with god.

You don't understand how contradictory your position is, to claim the RCC was the rightful Church before Vatican-II, and became corrupted afterwards. Either the one true catholic and apostolic church is divinely guided, or it's not.

The problem with the RCC is not Vatican II, it was a false church for centuries. It doesn't matter how great a Pope you get, it will never reverse the false doctrines and dogmas that it instituted in the name of tradition.

Anyone Christian who doubts the fact that the KJV is the best Bible translation, needs to wath this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXK8yJj-S4U

Also, some people mentioned the NRSV as being the best or the most accurate version. This is a blatant lie, it is the most gender neutral translation you can get. They literally try to force gender neutrality into as many verses as possible.

But you base your arguments on someone elses arguments from 500 years ago. We simply disagreed, you cannot go any other way about it. Protestants killed the christian faith in england and you cannot deny it, mediocre sources like wiki even claim that catholic church has bigger church attendance in england which should be impossible but honestly not surprising and there is more than enough evidence backed up by ex protestants, ex satanists(theist) that catholic church was the one making problems so it became the primary target. I really recommend watching the video i linked due to it being more than informative, explaining many questions you might have about it, its not linked to "brainwash you" into becoming catholic but it discusses what happened in the last how many years where everything went south.

Look at the context of the argument. It's never good to post 1 Bible verse (like I did) but Jesus is talking in Matthew 23 about calling people rabbi, father, and master in a worshipping sense. Stephen in Acts is not worshipping Abraham he is just using that term "Father" because of it's lineage.

People back then didn't say "dad" "pops" "or big man."

I am not an Anglican and I do not disagree the Anglican church has ruined faith in England, but the leadership of that church is heavily cucked. The problem with the Anglicans now is that many of them are sort of Catholic wannabes, there are a lot of faggoty "Anglican-Catholics" who act like smug Catholics and care about superficial aspects like robes and rituals. That's why they destroyed faith in England.

It is true that Catholics have better Church attendance but I went through RCIA and have been to many Masses and I know that most of the Catholics faith is very superficial as well. They don't really care about the Bible or Christianity. The church attendance is mainly due to recent Polish and other EU immigrants, but the English Catholicism is absolutely in decline as well.

Anglicanism is dying due to the being cucked and due to the faux Catholics, but evangelical Protestantism is on the rise in the UK, particularly in London.

Villiers was now the highest-ranking subject outside the royal family.

"God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods."

Tell me what part about this confuses you?

"How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked..."

He's telling the congregation of gods to get their shit together. This is Psalm 82 for everyone wondering.

In Isaiah, when Lucifer falls, the congregation is mentioned again. Lucifer thinks he'll sit above all of the other gods.

Note about Psalm 82, it actually mentions:

"I have said: Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High."

The most High is the God we worship by the way. Below it mentions that the gods will die like men anyways, so not really gods comparable to the most High.

I've killed lots of idle time while during the days in the army, so heres what I remember:
-Jacob got pranked by his brothers so they sold him and that is how he ended up in egypt.
-Jacob a man blessed by god, had sex with as many women as he wanted, had a bunch of wives, but one of them couldn't have children so she caused some drama to happen.
Some books go into great detail about the Israelite tribes and go into specific details on how much was their manpower in spearmen, bowmen, horses etc.
Some books go for dozens of pages on how God ordered the high priests on how the ark of the covenant needed to be adorned, this goes on pages by pages of specifics, trimmed gold, and the most high quality textiles from the best craftsmen on israel.
Later moses after a conquest felt angry that his officers brought prisoners of war in the form of women and children, he ordered all the males to be slaughtered, women were not virgin killed, and the virgins raped.
The ancient testament tells the story of how God wanted to bring the Israelites to full glory through conquest, does exactly that, gets betrayed because everyone is indulging in adultery and praising other fake gods, so he punishes them, this goes on like a cycles until King David (best character) is born, dies gloriously of natural causes, and then the people go back to sinning. God has had enough of their shit and curses the isrealites forever and remains silent until the birth of jesus christ.
Israelites are a cursed people by their own very god.

47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

About North America
The conversation was stilted, as one might expect with the struggle for the possessed person’s soul, but the gist was that Plinio was randomly “breaking people's computers so that they can’t go on the internet” and that he is changing the climate and was “therefore the author of the climate change, and the increase of heat. It is Plinio who does everything,” according to the devil as channeled through the exorcist. Then, the devil predicts that a meteorite will crash into the Atlantic ocean. “North America will disappear,” he warns.

About (((Pope Francis)))
The devil then turns to the fate of Pope Francis, which Tornielli was able to transcribe and translate from the somewhat distorted video. “The Vatican? It's mine, mine!” the devil says to the exorcist, according to Tornielli’s transcript. “The pope does whatever I want, he's stupid! He obeys me in everything. He is my glory, he is willing to do everything for me. He serves me.”
Then the devil, again as channeled by the exorcist for the Heralds of the Gospel, predicts that the pope will perish, not during a voyage, but at the Vatican. “The pope will die falling,” the exorcist’s transcript says quite clearly.

No where in the Bible does it say to venerate Mary. So no matter how hard you try to justify that the only thing I can keep doing is rebuking with scripture as to why it's a false practice by the Roman Catholic Church.

You'll notice I did call her blessed. She had the greatest honor a mortal could ever have: bearing the Son of God.

But many people are blessed in scripture. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob...even them that believe now.

Point being this - 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus NASB

We shouldn't pray to Mary or ask her to intercede, nor any other saint. She is not God or a god. We dishonor the Lord who bought us at a price by doing that.

That's the google definition. If you don't like it, take it up with google.

I'm telling you what best represents Christianity to me. You may not agree with it, but if you don't you should explain why and cut all the abstracts out.

My whole family is Roman Catholic, most while just say uh huh and not give two shits if you're a whiny cunt atheist/ questioning your faith.

Only the fundies/super religious will say shit like they will pray for you.

When I was an edgy teen my family would just acknowledge my questions and brush them off assuming I would come back into belief as I got older.

I haven't , but I do respect that they believe and partially wish I could

Catholics get a lot of shit but in my experience they are the least in your face about it. The nuns were bad in school but that was to be expected

I was replying to the poster who took a verse from Luke out of context to make it look like Christ said His mother wasn't blessed.
Furthermore, Mary was venerated by the Angel Gabriel when he said Hail Mary, full of grace. Hail is an acclimation, such as Hail Ceasar or Heil Hitler, etc. Gabriel was the first to venerate Mary.

Good man. It is not possible to be fluent in western culture without a decent knowledge of the Bible, whether you believe or not.

Ask two people who have read Blood Meridian to describe it to you, one who knows the Bible and one who does not. You will hear two different novels described.

Catholics and Orthodox (and a select few Protestants) like to ignore Romans 14.

By ignoring Romans 14 they open the gate way for calling other Christians heretics.

Mary is honored because she is the virgin mother of Jesus you pleb.

Well she was full of grace - literally pregnant with the Grace of God, Christ Jesus.

Furthermore an angel "hailing" someone doesn't denote that they are worthy of praise due to God or that they should be prayed to.

Check out this verse when an angel says whom is worthy of worship.

Rev 19:10 Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

i've been reading old testament and noticing stuff i never noticed before, in regards to spirit cooking, pizzagate, demon worship, etc.
Old Testament explains the origins of (((them))), and should be read with an understanding that God tried time and time again to get (((them))) to stop worshiping demons and sacrificing children.
The New Testament starts with Jesus teaching the proper way to interpret the old laws, instead of in the "lawyer" fashion that (((they))) treat it, i.e. always looking for methods to bypass the law "legally".
Eventually, Jesus was killed for telling the public about Pizzagate/spiritcooking within the (((elite))).
Point being, both old and new testament serve a purpose and are worth reading.

There is only one way to the Father, through Christ, who is present in His Catholic Church. It's not judgmental to tell somebody they have strayed into heresy, just as it's not judgmental to tell somebody that's addicted to heroin they have a problem and need to amend their lives.
True charity consists of admonishing and instructing those who have been mislead.

I wonder, though: he can differentiate between the repelling of sin and the half-assed "I'm sorry because I've got caught", right? Because the absolute most of people are latter, not former. (Thx catholicucks and their indulgence practice)

Brother, the Bible can change lifes. I say it for self experience.
When infidels like OP shows an interest in reading the Bible, the best we can do is to indicate a good version (I would say The Geneva Bible) and pray for him.

Let the Holy Spirit do its job.

>>135480803

Ok, great. But do you pray to Mary for intercession? As a Catholic, you do.

Like it says in 1 Timothy 2:5 - don't do that.

Catholics also believe a ton of other unbiblical stuff, like Mary supernaturally retaining her virginity even after the birth of Jesus' brothers and sisters, even til death.

It's not right.

there's a reason why colleges won't accept (or at least didn't back when i went) sources from wiki.
wiki is fine to use if it is sourced, but you still have to check the originals. wiki can be useful in that most of the work is already done for you.
but you're right, i've seen entire articles, or even just small snippets of information that don't get sourced.
i'm surprised that's even allowed. everything should be sourced.

New Age christian doctrine invariably revolves around gnostic teachings, which were removed FOR A REASON.
teaching that Jesus Christ wasn't literally "Son of God, come to earth", that he was just a human who did good deeds.
Gnostic teachings are basically mystery Bablyon cults that morphed to appeal to Christians, but to ultimately lead them down the path into luciferianism.
Any teaching, philosophy, religion that has "secret teachings" is ALWAYS luciferianism. Jesus said to be a lighthouse unto the world, where as occult "secret teachings" is always about hiding the truth from the masses, for reasons of power.

Firstly, Christ Himself said that the Bible didn't contain everything He taught, and nowhere in Scripture does it say the Bible should be your sole rule of faith. Secondly, Scripture also says there is no death in the Body of Christ. Why would it be okay to ask my mother, or my designer jeans wearing pastor (if I was Protestant) to pray for me, but not the Blessed Virgin? Again, you're not understanding "what is reserved to, and for, God alone". Prayer does not equal worship, or to be more accurate adoration, which is inherently bound up in the act of sacrifice. This is why the Jews had the sacrifice at the Temple and Christians have the sacrifice of the Mass, both being reserved for God alone.

You know that your position is weak when you have to go out-of-bounds to non-biblical man made traditions to justify your stance.

So you'll use scripture when it suits you, but if that doesn't work you'll just make some stuff up? That's terrible.

Also notice that Paul asked LIVING saints to intercede for himself and others, not dead ones. Trying to commune with the dead is strictly forbidden in Leviticus. It's an abomination to God.

Never in a million years would you catch Paul asking for Moses of King David to intercede for him, and you know it in your heart. That is Christ's role alone.

>But there are also many other things which Jesus did; which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written.

This is why one needs Apostolic Succession and Apostolic Tradition, both of which Protestants have severed themselves from.
Citing the Bible as your sole rule of faith is also explicitly in-Biblical. Yes, Scripture is valuable and profitable since it is the Word of God, however, according to itself it is not complete.
Christ also communicated with the dead which is recorded in Scripture.
>Matthew 17:3
>And behold there appeared to them Moses and Elias talking with him.

There's also this from the Apocalypse of St. John 8:3-4
>And another angel came, and stood before the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer of the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar, which is before the throne of God. And the smoke of the incense of the prayers of the saints ascended up before God from the hand of the angel.
