The majority of people who get education degrees are liberals. The majority of teachers in the US are liberals. This means that from the age of 5, kids are fed the liberal ideology 7 hours a day, 5 days a week. Whether its against the rules or not, teachers bring politics into the classroom. This influences some students and makes them lean liberal. Even I'll admit I almost went too far left. My teachers throughout middle and high school were obvious liberals, but I never paid attention.

College professors are left leaning and democrats by a large margin. They also have the privilege of working in fish bowl environments where they aren't really competing in a free market, particularly the tenured ones. Additionally, they suck on the teat of Uncle Sam in the form of grants, so receiving money from the govt is a very normal and necessary thing for them.

Leftist indoctrination is to be expected. For these professors it's not just an ideological proliferation, but it's also job security and potential raises in the future. In many ways it's typical self interest with the added bonus of platform preaching thrills.

Young high school minds have little to nothing to compare or contrast with this and are completely vulnerable. It's also a natural extension of what they've been taught in govt school for 12 years; that govt is here to protect you, provide for you, and solve your problems for you in the form of laws and programs. Naturally a bigger, more powerful govt is going to be more capable of solving problems, right?

The education establishment is to blame. It's 12 years of grooming followed by 2-4 years of total conversion. It takes about another 10 to 20 years of life experience to undo it, that's why statistically most people become liberal democrats in high school or college while people who convert to conservative/republicans do so in their 30's or 40's.

I've been to two separate four year universities and both of them had mandatory two year indoctrination programs before you ever got into the actual degree classes.

I never had to pretend anything, the only teacher i considered "liberal" was probably my art history teacher my freshman year. Everybody else just taught from the book, lectures mainly came from history classes or government classes, and they stuck to what most academic experts agree on what happened in history.

Nah i went to university of north texas, its a huge liberal school. Their music program is top 5 in the country.
And i got a meme ass degree in general studies.
There were plenty of republicans and non liberals in all of my classes, i had plenty of teachers i could tell were not liberal but didnt express their political views and were neutral when teaching the curriculum because they were professionals.
Tbh the only reason i went was because i got out of the army and didnt want to waste my GI bill.
