As such it's much more complicated than you picture.

The past is all good stuff, you kind of have to justify it somehow since it ultimatly is what leads to you in the present state.

People that post here a lot ultimatly feel powerless in one aspect of their life or another so they try to marshal others to overthrow or remove some obstacle. In terms of time spent it's much easier to just improve yourself than to get the world to change by preaching to others. However in terms of psychological courage the shit-posting is a lot easier, there's no inner reflection and confrontation with your own shadow. You get immediate results with plenty of (you)s and get to see people wearing the same hat as you for awhile. But than you leave the computer screen and you're back to an undeveloped life. That creates a cycle in of itself.

Kazakh posters are the best. Here in California the former Soviet despora still go to church with there stereotypical families. Even tho they do the most irreligious things behind doors. For example a pastor would go talking about how virginity is sacred and preaching to the young while his daughter is fucking them. Its cancer becouse the kids that grow up through it have a difficult time in the real world when there older because the way they were raised is different and they have to Americanize. Its really cancer.

my only argument is that most of the higher ups within the church aren't in it for holy servitude and salvation of their followers
and overall as an entity, no one I would ever trust
but there are indeed individuals who spread the word of god in an attempt to help put people on the right path
