Can someone redpill me as to how immagration is supposed to help our economy? I keep hearing how the reason behind importing migrants is to make up for declining birthrates. However, these declining birthrates are also correlated with declining infant mortality. People don't need to have as many children as had in the past. They are not incapable of having more children, it's just that having more is unnecessary. So what the fuck? How is a natural occurring phenomenon an excuse to bring people into our country? Or am I missing something here?

I once talked to an economics graduate. He said immigration increases a country's total GDP, and also a country's trade.
He said we should let in more refugees because they would increase government spending, which improves the economy (Keynesian?) and also increases trade productivity. I am not an economist so I didn't have anything to say back to him

No benefit, since having fewer people means you economy doesn't need to be kept so high.

if you import people who work you get more taxes, more spending, and more product to export
immigration only boosts the economy if the immigrants are prepared and willing to work i.e. white or east asian
