I'm looking into the senate race. Of the 8 battleground dem seats, 5 seem like we will very likely win them. These 5 (Montana, North Dakota, Missouri, Indiana and Ohio) are states Trump won by a large margin and the candidates barely carried in 2012 (a presidential year with Obama to carry the party). Of the other 3, 1 is very unlikely (Wisconsin) and the other 2 could go either way. West Virginia, but Manchin is basically a Republican and Florida where the popular Governor could do really well.

Overall I'm gonna predict we get 6 seats. As for Republicans we have 1 where we probably win but could go Democrat, I'd say 80/20 in our favor. So around 5-6 seats in the next election.

Single payer is NHS anon. It can never work in a country as big as the United States because of the immense population and the general expectation (proven countless times) that anything run at a federal level will be a gigantic mass of dysfunction, waste and overall suck.

It is also not something envisioned to be taken care on the federal level but on state level. California could have (and even voted for) single payer anytime they want. Why don't they have it? Why should people in Montana, who very much prefer their own way to run their own healthcare, be forced by the federal gov to contribute into a fund whose the majority of it would end up paying for care of people in Cali and NY?
