Very few universities in the US worth going to.

If you're really good at STEM and know you can do the work, pick a cheap state school that gives you a full academic scholarship and requires minimal coursework outside of STEM classes. Get in, get your 4 year degree, and get out.

If you're doing STEM, where you go basically doesn't matter, unless it is MIT on the high end, or community college on the low-end. And the low-end really only matters if you want to get on the radar of a top company.

I've interviewed hundreds of college kids for jobs at a big software company; and we hire plenty of kids from University of Nebraska, Minnesota, etc. In STEM, what you can do matters way more than university you went to. And once you've been in the industry a couple years, nobody even notices it on your resume.

If you're not doing STEM, basically the only tolerable place I know if is Hillsdale College. Possibly Bob Jones or Liberty, but I've heard mixed things about them.

I heard once upon a time that there were more people in law school than there were practicing lawyers. Dunno if that's true or not.

The law school route is expensive, competitive, and you won't finish before age 30. And when you get out, you may or may not be any good at it, and may or may not actually get a good enough job to begin to pay back law school costs.

There are plenty of lawyers that do small claims and personal bankruptcy for poor people... they never, ever get rich. And those are the ones who actually become lawyers...

I got 35 on ACT math the same year.

It does not matter at all. Especially for undergraduate. It matters much more for graduate school, but in ways you may not expect. For example, Montana State University has one of the best paleontology programs.

Save your money. Go to a state school or a smaller school as an undergrad that will actually have opportunities for you to work meaningfully with researchers.

definitely consider it if you plan on continuing for a bachelor's. you can transfer in as a sophomore, having spent only a small fraction of the cost of tuition. you can even transfer directly into some med-school and pharmd programs, as they mostly only require 2-years worth of ungergrad classes. you also have the freedom to change your major without racking up 50+k in costs

To add: probably research experience at a nearby college and a strong recommendation from the PI, start your own non-profit, SOLID essay for app that makes them forget how fucking white or asian you are, real awards against real competition in something, and impressive leadership roles over a few years, maybe on a board for some organization outside of school, have your own business etc
