Minimum wage is honestly more of a tool to set standards rather than an actual intervention by the state. I.e. minimum wage should be set at a reasonable level comparative to the economy, rather than at a level necessary for subsistence and a good life. The current US minimum is what, 1200ish? That's more than good enough imo.
