The Left's defense of a court sentencing this baby to death:

>It's our tax dollars, we don't want to pay!

Is identical to the Right's argument for not having single payer healthcare in the first place.

The difference? These parents would be able to afford the medical bills and be able to keep their son alive if it were not for single payer healthcare.

you are incorrectly framing the situation.

the decision to remove charlie from life support is not a financial one. the issue was never about not wanting to pay for his care, the issue was to stop his suffering.

>you are incorrectly framing the situation
>continues to incorrectly frame the situation

No, that was propaganda brought up by the left which never got traction. So dishonest.

The state does not have the right to decide who lives and who dies.
>>
>>135101965
well, if you read the court rulings you can see that the hospitals arguments were always in the child's best interest. never once was the issue of financial burden brought up as a reason for removing life support.

let's just stop trying to frame the situation and look at it rationally okay?

You don't have the first clue about this case.

The state hasn't decided this boy will die, his illness has.

Now these threads need to die because it's getting stupid. You're all the first ones to call for downy's/potato's to be killed, shut your holes you hypocrites.
>>
>>135102153
well that depends on which state you live in.
>>
>>135102270

1. If the boy got treatment in January he may have had a fighting chance.

2. Experimenting on him would have led to new information which could have allowed Doctors/Researchers to find ways to prevent this from happening in the future.

3. The parents had the money and they had Doctors willing to give treatment.

4. The patient always has the right to a second opinion.

5. The state does not have the right to decide who dies

6. A child is essentially the property of the parents until they become of age.

7. The state can not step in and steal your children from you unless you are abusing/neglecting them.

>when your government doesn't believe in killing murders but its ok with spending tax payer dollars on a legal battle to kill a baby
>>
>>135101875
The thread was about the lefts defence of the descision. Ive heard multiple leftists use the financial argumemt to justify pulling the plug. But no, the issue isnt a financial one, its about whether the state should have the right to kill someone. Honestly the parents should have probably stopped life support in this particular case, but should the government be able to circumvent a parents descision? Does the childrens individual right to die with dignity trump the parents wishes? Should jehovas witnesses have the right to refuse blood transfusions for their children based on their religious beliefs? It's like the abortion debate, the law says the foetus isnt a life, but that doesnt mean it's scientific fact, although the left would have you believe otherwise.

Under socialized medicine the State absolutely has the right to decide who lives and who dies. This case proves it.
