It depends on if you were raised in the church.

If you were baptized as a Catholic and also made your first communion, you can get confirmed just be scheduling it, really.

If you didn't get baptized in the church, you'll have to take RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) classes. I believe it's several months long.
