Clones would cost a shit ton even if we could make them. Because even if they had the 2 times as fast growth we would still have to feed them for 8 to 10 years without them being on the field. Also you can train a good basic soldier in a year so lets say 3-5 years of training (starts when they are 5 years old but have 10 year old's body/mind) would only be useful for the most intensive missions. So if it wasn't on the gray area morally and was possible i'd say US would maybe make maybe like 5000-10000 "super soldiers"

And for robot/drones they could be plausible to replace the front line soldiers whose only job really is to shoot as many enemies and try not to die, but i guess our AI isn't quite good enough and/or they would be too expensive

Drones could have near perfect aim and other stuff like not getting wounded so only thing that clones really have going for them is the ability to critically think

1. We haven't perfected human cloning
2. A clone army would take 20 year at minimum to be ready for combat
3. Human cloning is illegal in 15 states
4. Cost
5. It would negatively affect the prestige of the US Armed Forces
6. Such an army would be vulnerable to bioweapons tailored to kill someone with a specific genetic profile, thus rendering the army useless
