Gael or Celt aren't ethnicities, Irish people are descended from farmers who came from Turkey during Neolithic times. Celts were a cultural linguistic group and Gaels were just the Celts in Ireland who were separate from Brythonic Celts in Britain. Also, British people are for the most part still genetically the same as Neolithic people who lived there too. The genetic influence of the Anglo-Saxons, Normans, etc. is very overplayed and seems like a simplification of things.

I am descended from the poor irish that came to america. Have an Irish surname and such.
However, i'd say most of the Irish-americans here mixed with the germans-americans. ( My mothers side came from germany) So what does that make us then?
I mean we are white for sure, blue eyes and light hair all the way, but where do we fall? Are we irish or german, or french or dutch?

For example, Inbreeding in northwestern European countries causes an increase of Cystic Fibrosis.
