Men being manly is, quite literally, what keeps male sperm up. When men fight, even as a sport or game, their testosterone is boosted significantly. This is especially true if they win, where they get a much greater boost. These boosts are typically constant in our ancestors. Constant fighting and the hard toil to survive kept testosterone count high, but the human race has a natural counter for this. To prevent starvation from overpopulation, sperm count drops significantly as life becomes easier, and testosterone ebbs. You don't need as many children if they aren't dying, and to many children that live can be disasterous over a large enough population. Our bodies haven't adapted to the sedentary near-post scarcity life styles we live, so it just acts like this is an easy time and the risk of overpopulation is high.

This is also why the poorest and niggers have such high sperm counts in third world countries. They need to produce a dozen children because without UN food drops most would starve. Because the gibs don't alleviate the difficulty of life, they just supplement it, sperm counts never drop because testosterone never drops.
