This reminded my of an old fart I saw on TV decade ago. He dug-up a underground warren and moved there to hide from his nagging wife, who was kept out by tunnels being too thin. Both are probably dead now.

I don't get the hate here.
I'm an engineer and I think it's pretty cool. The one thing to know to have a durable house is not to let water pool. Water runs downhill. She just used that concept.
And then apparently the other thing was to build in seismic protection. Fate is weird sometimes. She solved one problem, another appeared.
I like her.
