I doubt it will ever be normalized to the extent it was in the past but it is definitely still possible today with some effort. What you can do is try to achieve it, and make sure your friends and those around you know you've achieved it. I have a few girlfriends that married pretty affluent guys and they still work because they feel like they "have to." Housing cost to average earning ratio is about 35% higher than it was in the 1960's, so probably not. Too much earnings of younger generations is wasted on paying rent/mortgage.

Meanwhile boomers make the problem worse by constantly complaining whenever the value of their estate falls. Boomers were raised under the entitlement that their property would always increase in cost, so they always vote against any measure that would prevent this.

Once they die out, maybe. But the problem is they have passed this entitled mindset down to generation X as well. So basically it's never going to get fixed in our lifetimes.

Yeah I definitely think it's possible, anon, but I think you'd probably want to start dropping hints about it early on in your courtship so you could get a sense if she would be open to it.
