Considering the left hasn't learned jack shit from the last election, 2018 will be a fucking massacre. Republicans are favored in most of the seats up for contention. Not to mention, the current Democratic party is fractured between moderates and progressives. Progressives refuse to vote for anyone who isn't a Berniecrat which means the vote will be divided and make it even easier for Republican candidates to win elections.

To clarify my earlier statement, historically whenever there has been "wings" or "factions" in the same party, it always fucks that party over and divides the vote. If Dems don't realize this, they are fucking doomed in 2018 and 2020.

I wouldn't waste time trying to guess the Dems fate. Remember almost 3 million more Americans voted for the Democratic Candidate for POTUS, and the Dems picked up seats in the House and Senate.

It's been said that the Republicans usually nominate the guy whose turn it is, while the Democrats opt for the new kid on the block. Last year was a reversal of roles in that regard.
So yes, while the current Democrat field consists of crusty geezers, whack-jobs, unelectable hatchet-men (and womyn), and literally whos, someone in that last category could gain media popularity in the primaries and win by being the only viable candidate.
