NASA also attributes planetary weather to the Sun as well, they watch something called the maunder minimum, low sun spot activity indicating low solar activity.

There's also the fact of Birkeland currents, the Sun discharges its heliosheath and that electrical potential arrives at the Earth at its poles, driving it as a giant electrical motor. This is known because these currents in space flow as fillamentry structures and they extend to all the planets in the solar system. NASA is currently studying this intensely with the Jupiter mission given the mass of "surprising" findings about the nature of its electromagnetic environment.
