Although as far as i can remember from all the shit i read on here, the english & french wanted the polish PM to refuse all offers extended by Germany, even the most sensible ones, so they could instigate a war.

If you look for post-ww1 map of Germany you'll see part of Northeast germany got seperated from the country and for awhile leading upto the war the polish refused to allow the germans access to it - i think there was even a german traintrack that went through poland to it that they weren't allowed to use.

War just doesn't happen overnight, it takes years of ramping up the media machine and dehumanize the enemy enough for people to be willing to goto war in the first place - the results of this propaganda is the likes of what we're talking about here. It's not an easy question to answer, but I think that in a way WWI never really ended in the East. East of the Elbe in Poland, Ukraine, Belarus etc. you had alot of different peoples living side by side (Germans usually in the towns, Poles, Letts, Lats, Russians, Ruthenians etc. in the countryside) and the enmities that WWI had awoken never went away.

After the Poles were given their own state, there was considerable enmity toward the middle class, urbanised Germans who were often wealtheir or who might have had certain priviliges prior to the (re)creation of the polish state.

In that environment, it was pretty easy for an anti-German pogrom to start, with or without the help of the Polish authorities. It was all pretty lawless country, which contributed to the communal violence that was unleashed when the Germans came over heading toward Russia. Nothing comparable ever happened on the western front.

Well I said that massacres didn't occur in Danzig but the evidence of Polish mistreatment of Germans leading up to WWII is still clear. Even British politicians such as Halifax admitted as much though they did nothing about it. Like all tragedies, the killing of Germans in Poland was hyped up for moral purposes but those pictures in the documentary are not fake. Those children were really burnt to death with their eyes gouged out. That can't be denied. I don't know if this is a Slavic trait or not but when German paratroopers landed behind enemy lines in the Soviet Union and got caught they would also have their eyes gouged out as well as their castrated penis stuffed in their mouths. From what I remember both from sources on our side of the fence (seemed pretty legitimate at the time i read them and stories told by my grandfather that mistreatment of germans almost never turned violent and wasn't organised in any shape or form.
It was a handful of incidents and the perpetrators were punished by the state.

It was somewhat similar to the persecution of the kikes done by civilians in Germany before the war.


If you have sources to prove me wrong then please share. I'm open to reconsideration but I mostly trust the part that my grandfather told me since he had little to no reason to lie and surprisingly he doesn't even hate germans.

That's because people usually take the entirety of the information in a video as a package and so assess the truthfullness of it. Not everyone has the competence to filter out the bullshit that should be ignored thus the content as a whole will either be taken as a truth or dismissed entirely.

I think it's wrong that he put some incorrect tropes like massacres in Danzig. It makes us look like fools. I don't take everything he says as truth. If I was watching it for the first time without any of the knowledge I have now, I wouldn't believe what he was saying about Poland. That being said, I would have preferred if he had elaborated more on the Poland issue to make his argument more convincing and provided his sources but it is a Youtube video and it uses the same music and style as TGSNT so I suppose there's something to that.
