If it's just Benioff's and Weiss' baby it will bomb. Game of Thrones has highly competent fingers in its pie with an established and enthusiastic story following. Take a look at their credentials compared to a guy like David Nutter or Alex Graves; all directors on GOT.
Also, both have only directed an episode each.

Instead of focusing on things like the moral dilemmas the US would face in choosing to cut off trade entirely or accept trades with a country using slave labor will be overshadowed by scenes of black people being tortured and beaten.
