Because the risk of a WMD attack has been largely blown out of proportion. Despite what the right would have you believe, not many people want to legitimately attempt attacking the US with a WMD.

Real talk: How likely is it that the CIA or some other type organisation is involved here? It just seems convenient that there have literally been no attacks or WMD's smuggled through when there is currently a HUGE immigration invasion happening and also a massive drug wave infecting your country.
