They advertise giving you the chance to disarm people and be an efficient system but it's been proven that you can get a black belt with just enough money.

All martial arts are shit for self-defence (at least japanese and chinese ones. Koreans are fine like Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido). They might give you an edge vs people that are not in shape but won't win you a fight. You need to learn simple stuff that you don't need to memorize, something that gets imprinted in your head as a reflex move like striking (boxing and kickboxing...) and grapling (jiu jitsu, wrestling...).
