Yeah, let's take the dregs of society, the people who are so devoid of intelligence, talent, and moral fiber to resort to crime, and use them to make things we all depend on as a society.

Better yet, we can allow prisons to profit from this exercise, giving them a motive to increase the number of people in prison and keep them there as long as possible.
