However that logic should apply to everything in terms of liberty: we should discourage gayness but not punish/criminalize/harass. Regardless, I'm not a fan of stoners stinking up nearly every block of my town. Same goes for tobacco smokers. I'm definitely going to move out to the country once I start raising a family. I don't want my kids inhaling the shit every time they go outside.

Dad died from this alcoholism. Auntie very very nearly died from it twice (miracle she's still alive) and is still suffering consequences. For that reason, I've made a choice not to go near the stuff.
See that - choice. Laws won't do shit to prevent the cult of alcohol (which is terrible here in Britain), but societal and cultural shifts will change it. Already, studies suggest current young people aren't drinking as much as their parents. Without law changes.

I personally overcame alchool (1 bottle a day for like 2 years) and NEVER, EVER had struggle with weed...for about a month or so i felt like smoking more or something but never i felt down or depressed or withdrawl from weed...
hell, in parties we used to smoke weed the next day to cure withdrawl effects from various drugs like MDMA or COKE or methylone (or other drugs you never even heard about it).
It was like the calculated miracle for our withdrawls.
