How is one government going to know what's best for everyone? They're just going to fuck some people over to benefit a select few. Happens when any government gets large enough. A tiny capital can't possibly know or care about the needs of people in faraway territories.

A world government can work if it works in a federalist system. Having hundreds of autonomous states all united under a federal government that ensures common human rights and democracy across the globe and has a military is ideal.

The problem is that when a world government does one day roll around it will inevitably be much stronger than that.
