I taught English in Southeast Asia for the month of July a few years ago, and one of the teachers at this school, a Spanish guy, told me that the kids would forget everything I'd taught them by the time they came back in September. It then dawned upon me that it was ultimately pointless. I mean yes it's nice to see other parts of the world, but a lot of the people who do this sort of thing have been raised on the idea that everyone is equal, so they're prime targets for scammers.
