When I think about this line of thought, I always find myself asking who exactly is the public? Why is a consumer more a member of the public than a producer and thus entitled to more protection? We need no laws telling the public which sites they can use or cannot. Is googles share of web traffic not close to a monopoly? Then by the same logic of net neutrality should the government not limit the amount of time the consumer spends on google thus to protect the public producer? I'm the case of fraud, there is a proper identifiable wrong committed. Why then do supporters of net neutrality think it justifiable to treat the provision of internet services in the same way they treat fraud? Is the provision of services as evil as defrauding? Should we fine the pizza man for delivering papa johns and not dominos? This is what is deadly about net neutrality support. Loudly proclaimed opinions with no rational thought to support it.
