If you want an OK Japanese newspaper in English, read the Mainichi site. Unfortunately the hilariously outrageous waiwai world column got shut down a few years ago when the Japanese executives/editors finally realized (after more than a decade of not bothering to read their own fucking newspaper) that the white gaijin editor of that column was just taking bizarre sex stories from the tabloids and rewriting them as fact.
