why are leftists so nihilistic yet so passionate about politics?

the part I don't get is that they're so passionate when the stakes are so low for them.

all they care about is shit that can easily be fixed at any moment in history like a universal healthcare system or legalizing abortion or something.

whereas stakes are massive for conservatives - if the non-white population continues to grow then our society is absolutely fucked because people are even more resistant to deportation than they are letting non-whites invade here in the first place.

Rural white voter here. Voting for Trump was possibly the biggest mistake of my life. Probably the worst president we've had in the last 500 years.
