What's gonna happen when most jobs become automated? Will universal income ever work? Is communism not such a bad idea after all? The future is looking very bleak my friends
>>
>most jobs
Do you have a STEM degree? Do you understand which jobs can be automated and which ones can't?
>>
>>133063305
>Akatsuki Sharpton

How in the fuck do you put those two entities seperated over half a century and three races of seperation together?

Like how do you expect me to connect Martin Luther King and fucking Faye from Cowboy Bebop?
>>
>>133063480
I'd say most manual labor jobs and retail jobs and fast food jobs will be automated
>>
>>133063305
Don't work at mcdonalds and you will be fine.
>>
>>133063305
Society will revert to the way it was before. Constant suffering for 99% of people, most will be serfs living on the streets in plywood shacks. Millions more people will die fighting for our rights again. Rinse and repeat.
>>
We will just be mindless automatons kept around to maintain the machines for our technocrat overlords. Metropolis predicted all of this.
>>
>>133063677
>retail
No.

>fast food
Yes, but by vending machines.

If you need sales suggestions, that means that worker needs a unique, personalised solution every time which AI can't really do. Those magical algorithms you think will pay your neetbux only work if there's many possible solutions and the goal is to find the best.
>>
>>133063480
wtf don't you get it? OP said MOST JOBS will get automated, including STEM, meaning nothing is safe, i mean c'mon haven't you been following the news when it very clearly states that robots are getting smarter and smarter every day using neural nets and stuff, meaning soon there will be absolutely no jobs left whatsoever, thus the only logical conclusion is UBI aka communism lite until we can establish real communism so we get our fat asses fed just for merely existing because shitskins totally won't continue breeding like rabits and consuming all resources pissing off the robot overlords and then causing the robot apocalypse ressurcting mecha-hitler to finish what he started only this time the final solution is the removal of gas, oxygen, instead, because robots are not held back by suck petty organic functions and can now focus on conquering the galaxy instead

everyone buys there shit off the internet nowadays there will be no need for retail stores other than clothing stores, and yu don't need some douchey college student to tell you what to wear, you get the clothes yu like that fits you and you buy it.
>>
>>133064006
>including STEM
Yet again, someone who isn't experienced at all that actually thinks he's an AI expert. Small or no solution space? Neural networks are useless.

>>133064338
A salesman is still a social skills job, you can't automate it.
>>
Lawfag here, automation never ever.

We're here to stay.
>>
>>133064509
What if I told you social skills wouldn't matter in 50 years because everyone is balls deep in technology and not socializing ever?

You're clueless about what's going on if you don't think most low skill or manual labor jobs won't be taken over by robots or the internet.

4 options.

1) Fascism: retraining programs and mass conscription to give people work and purpose

2) Socialism: automation replaces as much work as possible, people do whatever they want to do in their free time (probably laze around)

3) Capitalism: the poor either figure out how to survive or starve to death, automated warbots defend the property of the capitalists from revolution

4) Social Democracy: UBI is implemented, you can still work but the rewards are decreased due to high taxes
>>
>>133064702
What if I told you women are only going along with this technology thing whilst they can use it to be social?

>>133064656
Maybe not law, but accountants and tax lawyers would be out of business if taxation departments were replaced with programmers that know how to SSH into bank accounts.

>>133064975
Sure, but know there are limits.

AI works like this, we either know the solution and implement it naively just by translating preexisting knowledge into an algorithm or we know there are many solutions and we use neural networks to be find a better than average one.

If the solution is unknown, you can't simply plug in a solution finding algorithm. This won't exist ever.

>clueless
The clueless is thinking we can have AI programming AI for the sake of programming. Not everything can be solved and real STEM fags think it's really awkward when you try to "troll" them by saying STEM will deprecate STEM, they know you're wrong. Anyone who's programmed for a few moments knows you're wrong.
>>
>>133063305
Who do you think builds and maintains the robots?
>>
Jobs being automated out of existence is hardly a new thing.
The wild grape gathering industry was btfo in the year 7805 BCE when Grunt the caveman planted the first vineyard. This really made one drink.
Most people don't know this, but king David had a slingshot building sweatshop that he inherited, and he was btfo by the new bow and arrow industry, which is part of the reason how the might kingdom of Judea was conquered by the inferior romans, their slingshot revenue had been automated away.
And who could forget how Gutenberg and his printing press btfo out the scribe service industry who copied books. How can hands compete?
