What do you make of this general consensus, /pol/?
>>132996776
When you take a definite stance, you will be expected to defend it. When you dismiss all stances, there is nothing to defend. This leaves your pride intact. Some think it is an effective way to hide your insufficient knowledge. It's not.

This. Being against everything is nothing more than a coward's position.
>>132997891
It's true. We are enlightened and superior beings.
>>132997599
I think it's also a defense response against having to deepen your understanding of the world.
Think about all the knowledge you've gained via /pol/ and /pol/-like sites. Now imagine trying to interpret the world as is without that knowledge.
It'd be terrifying, nothing would make sense, you'd cling desperately to whatever safety blanket the culture gives you.
By saying "everyone's stupid but me" you get to ignore the burden of discovery and pretend everything's alright, you're alright. The life of the average normie is spent oscillating between uneasy content and brief spurts of confused horror.
well politics are retarded

There's a scene in Sleepers where the two Irish thugs enter the bar and over hear two older gentlemen arguing over politics. The thug calmly asked the bartender to give the men a shot on him. The shots are delivered and the bartender nervously whispers, these are for you as long as you do not bring up politics and religion here. The men and the thugs met eyes and it was understood as they drank down the shots.
That's my mentality. Keep your mouth shut because I don't really want to hear it.
>>132998276
Only the implementation is. The concept itself is vital to any functional collective.
>>132997599
One simple argument against "moderate" "apolitical" "centrism": the Overton Window and how the "center" keeps shifting within it.
>>132996776
It's not because people don't want to lose pride, it's because on the internet it is the vocal minority that get heard, they mostly have exetreme viewpoints. This makes most political discussions a complete circlejerk, however in the circumstances that there are people who do not like the exetreme views in a non-circlejerk discussion they will mostly say "Fuck both sides" because they believe 'both sides' are full of illogical ideas. I think it's about how on the internet it is the vocal minority that get the most attention and misrepresent the side as a whole.
It's true, because both sides are neoliberalism, and therefore selfish and ineffective.

well in the US the Bush/Clinton consortium was in charge for 30 years.
We just saw G20 which was mostly globalists.

So yeah I get why they feel that way.

It is manufactured by the media.

>American faux-democracy is not the most prominent system in the world
At this point, it's either Merkel/Macron/May/Trump neoliberalism or Putin/Xi state capitalism. Both options are vulgar.
And the only candidates who could even begin to bring about change: Corbyn, Melechon, Bernie, were either rejected or are still stiffed; so deep is the class cuckery of the west.
>thread going this long without posting centrist
Glenn Beck makes good company if you choose the "I'm above it all" stance. I despise centrists even more than leftists. At least leftists stand for something.

It's true. The Fundamentalists/"Populist Right" supply no actual answer, nor are they actually different from the centrists they claim to oppose.
>people who used to side with the left are now fence-sitters
We're getting there slowly. The more the regressive left fucks up, the closer those people are to sympathizing with the other side.
People are lazy and find faults in both sides. While both sides do have faults, identifying with neither is a sure sign you are uneducated and/or have no sincere care for anything or anyone.
Alternatively, they're a Trump voter and don't want to get ostracized in a pile of rabid libtards.
>>132996776
Fence sitters who are indecisive, apathetic, or have no loyalty. In a peaceful, uninteresting time I'd have lumped myself in with them. Suffice to say, I respect them less than leftists.
>>132996776
I don't know what the fuck their problem is but they have to go.
Every time you pressure them you are going to find out that they lean left. Every single fucking time. Every one of those online ''skeptics'' pretends to be an intellectual centrist, but when pressured they admit that they are ok with white countries becoming non-white and whites getting exterminated, like that Sargon faggot. He danced around the subject trying to be some kind of a ''centrist'', as if there was a middle between white people existing and white people not existing. Now he flat out admits that he is ok with it.

They've always been fence sitters, especially when there's no longer any difference between the left & right in the US.
>The more the regressive left fucks up, the closer those people are to sympathizing with the other side.
You're seeing an increase of sympathy with the lower classes by ordinary Americans, it's true (and great), but that has yet to translate into actual sympathy for party leaders.
Because these middle class and working class people feel that their prosperity depends on themselves and not on the government. They want to be left alone.
>>132996776
They have political views but they don't want to talk to you about your autistic Hitler fanboyism so they say they're disinterested. Get a life.

The current problems of corruption and stripping of our rights? These principles should be there regardless of what side youre on. Unfortunately, both sides want ultimate power and will acvieve it by taking away everything you have. The true side is liberty. There is very little difference in real policy between the two shitshow parties. Abortion, fag rights and environment are not that important.

I support Bernie because he's the farthest left and most viable person the Democrats hasve generated in decades. He's definitely a demsucc at best, but I'd do anything to get Hillary & Co. out of the spotlight
