There is nothing good about any of this. He is authoritarian alright, not in a right way, far from it. He is an authoritarian socialist, like all the governments we've had for the last decades. The real difference is that Macron is the peak of auhtoritarianism and police state. He thinks of himself as a king, an emperor and a god, he basically got the full powers, and he allows his goons (police, etc...) to have all powers over citizens. I could be arrested at any time, my guns confiscated and destroyed, my house, car and myself searched, without any due process, just because my prefinct feels like it.
Curfews could happen at any moment and people can be banned from entering a determined zone at any moment as well.
