For me personally, I come from a line of Iraqi Christians. One of the hardest things to do in life is to actually be a practicing Christian. There are many Christian denominations. Disciplines and other traditions/certain rules changed over time but the Doctrine has never changed. EMPIRES have fallen all around the Catholic Church and yet it still stands today. That says a lot. It takes a lot of will and discipline to become a Christian.
I am not a Christian but I always find it funny when Militant Atheist attacks Christians as weak because they follow a book. Really – You know how hard it is to try to live like a true Christian. It’s easy to steal, hire hookers and treat them like dirt, molest Children, lie about everything, murder, etc… Yes you don’t need to be a Christian to not do these things but Christianity helped bring some light to these dark actions and also helped build the West.
Christians get a bad rap now; I was one of those militant Atheists that belittle Christians any chance I can get. Towards the end of finishing grad school I realized that all the stereotypes from the militant atheist (primarily the leftist) are not remotely true and was manufactured by the leftist. One of the biggest realizations is how diverse in thought the Christians are. So many different Christian factions are still debating on the interpretations of the Bible. They also debate about Science, Philosophy, Society, etc… I was “trained” to think all bible thumpers are the same.
I’m an agnostic now but I am starting to defend the Christians a lot more recently. If a new Crusade would come, I would join them in arms to wipe out the enemies. If there is no Christian God, who cares, what’s wrong with a community getting together every Sunday and conversing on life? Yeah, those southern Baptist are really dangerous people, give me a break.
