To my knowledge there is not this massive anger against the US due to the bombs that were dropped. Everytime I've seen some sort of apology or reference, in person or in the media (like when Obama apologized), the response from Japanese people is basically this blank expression and simple statement of "We were at war, so..."

I think probably there is some WWII guilt in Japan, and this "we were wrong" guilt is part of why they don't care so resentfully about the nukes.

Their guilt however is nowhere near the level of Germany's, or of your average guilt-tripped white person these days.
