If I only consider myself, I am thriving in Western society. Islam is not any different from Christianity. If Christianity is the ancestor of Western society then integration of Muslims is not so difficult. Taaqiya is a well defined concept.
Taqiya is the forgiveness of God onto an individual if he sins when his life or freedom is at risk. In Islam it is believed that the importance is not who or what the prophet looked like. This leads to idolatry. The importance should be centered around the message of God the prophets have brought onto us. As a consequence we avoid drawing the prophet to keep the focus on his message and not his appearance.
Now, some random guy drawing the prophet does not lead me to idolatry. I am confident in my belief in the word of God. A simple drawing will not lead me towards cherishing the image of the prophet rather than his word.

IQ is also extremely unreliable. If you were born in Egypt you would have a lower IQ. IQ is influenced by a lot more than genetics. It is influenced by environment, access to resources. Thus, it is illogical to judge the success of individuals moving to the West based on the IQ of their country.
