This. Ask any anti-gunner what "common sense" dictates and they begin fumbling around their words like flustered autists.

"Common sense gun control" is a blanket statement leftists use to emotionally manipulate the masses into thinking those who oppose said gun control are irrational, stupid, or dull.
It's a less shocking way of saying "but think of the children" without using any facts or statistics or studies to push a narrative.

Background checks are often touted as common sense, as well as magazine capacity limits and the whole "assault weapon bans"
Assault weapon bans are particularly stupid because they're predicated on what makes a firearm "scary" rather on any sense of functionality.

And this is despite the fact that we have background checks, it's already illegal for felons and certain others to possess and purchase firearms. The problem is the BATF-E is too busy smuggling ar-15s to Mexican drug cartels and then losing track of them rather then prosecuting existing regulations.

Here's a crazy thought.....why not have law enforcement use the tools they already have before handing them new ones that punish lawful gun owners.

I'd define it as not allowing people with a criminal recod and mental illnesses to own a firearm. Also nobody under the age of 21.

I don't know if you already have regulations like that in place. I imagine you do.

How can common sense be common if common sense is so rare? Common sense gun control is an oxymoron.
