Let this oldfag tell you a story about the early days of 4chan.

Early anons used to raid the shit out of neonazi forums, like Stormfront. Why?

Because nazis and fascists are the easiest people in the world to troll.

Eventually it was taken off the internet and turned into a campaign against Hal Turner and other right wing media personalities. At first, the neonazis were livid, but many started logging on to 4chan out of curiosity, wondering who these "anonymous" degenerates were.

But as the saying goes, when you stare into the abyss, know that it stares also back into you.

About a year later, the boards were overrun with the same right-wing conspiracy theorists and neonazis that had been so successfully trolled in days of yore, along with all their teenage edgelord followers who had just discovered how to draw swastikas.

The old boards had an attitude that nothing was safe, nothing was sacred, and every weirdo basement dweller on here who pushed the envelope of acceptable behavior got as good as he gave.

But in the end, it was overrun. Not unlike the current /pol/ narrative of white countries being overrun with migrants, the boards were overrun with shitposters, and the old crowd got exhausted.

The tone has changed. Now it is a "safe space" for all of the special nazi snowflakes who came here looking for the enemy, and stayed for the weeaboo porn, memes, copypasta, and traps. They shit up all the boards, endlessly circle jerking to the same echo chamber messages that made them feel so good about themselves on Stormfront.

tl;dr version: Nazi threads started out on /b/ as a cartoonish joke, and then all the boards were overrun by real nazis who couldn't take a joke.
