CNN found the reddit user who created the gif and may release his personal information, including name, date of birth, etc., allowing future employers to see all the edgy things he's posted. Here in the states, most major employers have contractors that do background searches on social media, so something like that could cripple his future employment. It sets a dangerous precedent since universities do this and while typically fine with far-left activity, they have like a zero tolerance policy on far-right work. So if contractors start repeating CNN's activity and unmasking anonymous posters on social media, you could see colleges getting their post info.
