As for Britons, Franks and Saxons. Dacians were at a comparable level of wealth to them, prior to the Frankish empire of course, which piggybacked on the declining Roman empire. The Dacians couldn't do the same and build a large kingdom of their own because of their proximity to Byzantium, which didn't collapse until well into the middle ages.
