Basically a solder is injured in combat is cryogenically frozen for the return home, arrives back on earth 200 years later. overpopulation has resulted in enforced "homosex" relationships and the majority of humans being a mongrel brown racce. The character is then attacked and jeered for being a "het breeder" in that timeline.

We're well on our way to that point, just without space travel and cool laser weapons.
