met an old polish man at the store last friday. he was ahead of me in the checkout line and insisted of using as many pennies as possible when paying in order to get rid of them. must of been hell for the cashier but this guy was really nice. when i walked outside he was having trouble with his groceries so I helped him load his stuff into his little car. he told me he was new to this country and i asked where he was from and he said he was from poland. my grandparents taught me polish so we had a nice conversation. he had almost no family, only a grandson who lived in the UK. i didn't ask why he came here though. also saw him in the park while i was walking my dog on sunday. he said hello. he was playing chess with the old korean guy who owns the gas station minimart. what a nice man.
