There isn't I pray if I have a kid I am well of enough to homeschool them. Every homeschool kid I have met are doing calculus in their middleschool years, they don't have to deal with Tyrone ruining the class, and they aren't getting brainwashed by the teachers as well as the degenerate students raised by idiot majority.

This. But it depends on the school district. If you live in a White and/or Asian school district, your kid will probably be ok. You just have to make sure they're not indoctrinated into (((their))) politics.

But if the school district has any blacks or white trash, better homeschool them.

That is the issue, there is nowhere there are not blacks and other trash because the school system here in Georgia imports little niggers from Atlanta and spics across the river from shit schools to all of the best schools.

When I was in high school we had the highest average GPA in the state, the school system says oh ok lets send all the little nigglets there so they can get a good education. Our test scores plummeted, we lost funding, and because of that they got rid of the senior trip we earned to Disney World.

Then again that school went to hell when I left. Apparently they removed the engineering classes, lowered the math requirements, and bought an all new football stadium.

I still have never been to the happiest jew land on Earth and I am still mad...

luis clearly ate more, its right in the math. its a retarded and unrealistic assumption to make that one pizza size is different from the other. two kids would order the same kids size pizza.

and how do you even know its a full pizza, why not just a slice?

here's a tip from a college graduate (with a minor in maths): don't make assumptions, just read the question.

it doesnt matter what the question says, luis ate more because 5/6 is greater than 4/6. that's all the information you have to go by so thats what it is.

the teacher wasnt wrong.
>>
>>132385314

This is no lie.

I delivered food to the princeton university campus.

One of the graduate teachers there that I knew a little was telling me how she was flunking some girl for plagiarism, which she thought meant that the girl was being disobedient to her.

I asked her how she knew the girl was plagiarising and she was all confused and didnt even know what the word meant.

So basically we have a princeton graduate teacher who doesnt even know what plaigarism means. She does know how to drink beer though, that much was clear.
>>
>>132385314
>>132387298
>We're supposed to assume both pizzas are the same size,

No, you're not. The teacher is simply wrong. That or there's a mistake in the workbook or in the teacher guide.

Common Core math is weird, but it's a lot more jarring to someone who is not the parent of a child in the program looks at a single problem and doesn't understand what came before or after.

The best example of this is the estimation problems in which the child made precise calculations and was marked wrong. This happened because the child just finished two years doing precise calculations and is being taught a new skill. If you were asked to form a hypothesis and instead you went and performed an experiment and answered with your conclusion, would that be the correct answer?

In the case of the Marty & Luis problem, I think it might be fake. The marker looks too professional, like something you would see in an advertisement, some bitch at Starbucks making a list; and the child's letters aren't formed in the way now taught in American schools. It's not just that he's writing funny, but that there's no path to there from what's taught in kindergarten. This is the writing of someone who once knew cursive but has forgotten it.

Obviously I asked her politely to recheck it, because I remember working on that paper. She was kinda adamant at first, but I insisted. Got an email the same day after school with a long apology about how it was another student's paper and that I must've felt terrible.

>>
>>132386479
Trcik question. The answer is supposed to be
>Marty could not eat more of a pizza if he only are 4/6th if the pizzas were equally sized

The question is flawed because they enter it expecting a child to answer with the most straight forward answer while presenting a variable that makes them think outside the box. However instead of simply answering it is not possible the more brighter children will accept this random tangent and formulate a scenario where the unexpected new fact provides a new answer.

It is a question designed to root out the common students from the more gifted but then punishes the truly gifted.

Tyrone is black boy and Martin is white boy. Is it reasonable to say that Martin could also be a black girl?
>>
>>132391064
estimating dude:
103 is close to 100
28 is close to 30
100-30=70

therefore 75 is close to 70 so its reasonable.

estimating is actually very important in maths when you cant spare the compute time to get an exact answer.

in the sciences all we deal is with estimations and approximations so its good to start early.

again, the teacher was right, the student was wrong.
>>

the child's answer is correct though. 5/6 and 4/6 are fractions of a whole. If they represent different wholes, then 4/6 (of x) could be larger than 5/6 (of y). The answer is only impossible if the slices of pizza came from the same pie and were evenly cut.

Logically the only correct answer is that Marty has a bigger pizza.

The round letters are written in the wrong direction. Common Core children are taught to make the circle, starting at the top, and then the line attached to it. This asshole is leaping into the letter from some imagined joining point to the left, then whipping into the line as though he's been doing it so long it's second nature to him and he doesn't give a fuck. Those little g's especially are like those of a lazy high school girl.

It shouldn't be this way, and we can imagine parents will be more careful about these things, but try taking your kid to the playground in the middle of winter, or during a lightning storm, and see how much social activity they get.

My kid had trouble adjusting to kindergarten just because I kept him out of preschool. I had intended to homeschool him but he wanted to go to school so I took him, and now I'm glad I did. He sees kids he knows all over the neighborhood, says hi to kids he doesn't know, invites himself into activities others are doing at the playground. I sure as hell can't do that shit.

Gentle reminder that none of this means a damned thing if you don't go out and find yourself a wife.

While it might not be an ideal system, it is still better than the situation prior to mandatory education.
The people who want to educate their children better are allowed to do so via either homeschooling or private schools, the rest would have been unlikely to educate their children better than public schools.

The problem is poorly worded. "Marty ate more pizza than Luis" is an affirmation and should be taken literally.
The only possible answer of this problem is what the little kid wrote. Because Marty ate more pizza than Luis. So the only possible explanation is that Marty's pizza is bigger.

You guys are fucking retarded. Do you think school is JUST about academics? Well, it's not. It's a big part of it, but it also prepares you for many aspects of LIFE. It teaches you how to be a decent person in society, it gives you an opportunity to fuck up in a secluded environment and learn from the challenges that you face.

I'm not saying homeschooling is bad, I'm sure a lot of the people that are homeschooled end up fine, or just as good, but there's a real benefit to going to a real school and dealing with people on a daily basis.

Name some jobs where you don't have to socialize with people and have decent socializing skills. There's not many. In every job in life, you'll have to deal with real people, people that are strangers, people that you don't know. You have to make friends with people you work with, you have to learn how to work as a team.

Given there's a lot of bullshit being spread at schools, you can teach your children at home too. You can let your children have access to the internet and give them insight on issues and how you view them, and they can still go to school.

So yeah.. that's more than one reason you shouldn't homeschool your child.

The question states a few pieces of information and you are supposed to figure out under what circumstances would make it possible.

Pizza x and pizza y. Subject 1 ate a of pizza x and subect 2 ate b of pizza y, the remainder of pizza x is less than that of pizza y.
>>
The pic is cropped pretty tight, it's POSSIBLE that there was a diagram inferring they ate the same size pizza.

But the way the question is worded is an intelligence filter, it's asking for a hypothesis as to how the based child COULD have eaten more pizza than the other child.

It's abstract thinking and problem solving.

I also have a feeling the parent solved it for the kid and was extra butt-hurt that they got 50% credit, because that's potato level writing/penmanship for that age with semi-clever reasoning. Doesn't fit the profile.

Homeschooling is superior even if the parents are skill-less, and fail at passing on any talent to their kids.

Why? because they won't waste time on indoctrination and will find instead their own interests and what they're good at early on.

It's unlikely homeschool children might go worse off than the normie kids. The good thing is, if the parents are entrepeneurs, freelances and so on or even if the parents are red pilled enougth to take a mentoor early on, the kids will start with an insane advantage.

People start building real-life skills at their twenties and truth is, we could have started the same bullshit at 8 with lot less butthurt.

The question isn't a math question at all, it's creative thinking/problem solving more than anything.

But you COULD solve it mathematically

def getRekt(marty, luis, pizza_size_M, pizza_size_L):
x1 = pizza_size_M
x2 = pizza_size_L
M = marty
L = luis
marty_ate = M*x1
luis_ate = L*x2
if marty_ate > luis_ate:
print("Marty ate more, your teacher is a cunt")
else:
print("Luis ate more, because they ate the same size pizza or Luis' pizza was larger")

def getLuis():
notWhite = 5/6
return notWhite

def getMarty():
white = 2/3
return white

BasedMarty = getMarty()
LoserLuis = getLuis()
getRekt(BasedMarty,LoserLuis,2, 1)

She came back with "no, no it's for your own protection so you know when you're cheating poor wittle kiddos wouldn't know otherwise."

Fucking a.

In my district, a teacher must have at least a master's degree in the field they're going to teach in order to even put in an application. Then they're forced to teach this common core bullshit.

No wonder there are so many Jews who go to Catholic schools.

Almost all public schools in the west are based off the Prussian Volksschule system. The prussian education model(Volksschule K-12) extends childhood, dumbs people down, and teaches them to self police each other. The elite see you as Darwin's genetic dead ends and the system was designed to enslave on that principle. The idiocy of the masses is very much intentional, as it makes them easier to control.

Pic related is a perfect example of modern textbook(Common Core) propaganda.

I graduated hs in 2006. We had some similar shit. "Academic" (advanced) and "applied" (standard/stupid) and then "open" meaning only one class, so shop class, gym, religion and art.

It was to seperate the kids that didn't wanna learn from the smart students who were eagerly studying in order to get into university. You also needed 6 out of the 8 classes per year to be "academic" in order to be accepted into university, and the other 2 classes were intended to give students the option to learn music or art or whatever and not be barred from university for that. But most "academic" kids still chose to take other "academic" courses. But it was sure as shit a Marxist indoctrination camp even back then.

>>132391526
Word problems are supposed to teach kids how to gather relevant information in an applied setting. In theory, you start with simple information about concrete subjects and progress later into making the problem solving more vague and adding lots more superfluous information like how most problem solving works in the real world.

The problem is that most people are retards, so words problems don't serve much of a purpose.

>one eats 4/6
>another eats 5/6
>ITS THE SAME PIZZA THAT HAS 9/6 PARTS!
>reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Ok Mr. Bachelor, let's break down the problem for you:
Marty ate 4/6 of his pizza. M=4/6
Luis ate 5/6 of his pizza. L=5/6
Marty ate more than Luis. M>L
How is this possible?
4/6 > 5/6 itself is impossible except in the circumstance that both subjects are not using the same amount, therefore because the question has presented this inequality as fact we must assume that their pizzas are not of equal sizes. To say otherwise assumes that a premise of the question is wrong and if that's we're doing: why are you study mathematics if the questions always present erroneous data?

I once had my English paper checked in High School using one of those programs that cross-references the substance against tons of other material to see if it was plagiarized. It couldn't have been plagiarized as it was a story about a personal experience on my High School Lacrosse team. The test came back with a 98% match for plagiarism. Teacher kept me after class to talk about it and I told her it was a personal story and she should actually read it to figure out if I had really plagiarized. After reading it, she realized the program was wrong.

I don't understand how the program could find a 98% match on a personal story from my own life.

The question states, literally, that Marty ate more pizza. You want to disregard that as false. Why that sentence only? Why don't you also disregard the fractions?

With your approach, you could make up your own question entirely since you are arbitrarily dismissing stated facts included in the original question.

Because writing analysis programs are dog shit. They largely focus on superficial details while not being able to grasp broad fundamentals. Pizzas, cakes, and pies get used all the time to explain fractions to children because it's really easy for them to visually see how much a fraction is with a common object.
