The Holocaust was the oppression of Jews and other minorities. Many died, yes. But war is not moral and no group is protected by some universal shield of human rights, because human rights don't exist. To say "look at how evil these bigots were" from a peacetime lens is not very relevant. The issue is with the claim that millions of Jews died, around six million. Most of the bodies weren't destroyed. Many were shot, but they weren't burned to ash. Even less were gassed. However, there is a very weak initiative (then and now) to actually locate the mass graves and show how they can determine the Jewishness of the victims. It is primarily anecdotal instead of physical evidence, which is where the "maybe we shouldn't be so quick to politicize this without better evidence" comes from.
At the end of the day, the burden of proof has yet to be fulfilled.
Is it possible to cremate a body to bones as fast as was done? And is there any other evidence that exists, besides anecdotes that one is supposed to take at face value, for mass gassings? The shootings are perfectly in-line with war: in that they are amoral. Appealing to human rights is not an argument used during war. If one is suspected of partisan activity, one is removed. Enemies of the state are not tolerated, least of all during wartime.
