Not really. In the past 4 years I have personally known 3 individuals who have died from ALS. My father, and 2 of our co-workers (I am in the same field). My father delt with it for over 6 years. The other 2 gentlemen were dead within a year of prognosis.

Hawking is not a human. Nothing about him is human at all. He is a sack of flesh with a working brain....nothing else. I can only imagine the daily terror he feels....a caretaker lifting you wrong can be the end of your life.
