Because they don't understand that without motivation there is no development. Universal income and socialism will make everyone making an example by those who work less and get much. In capitalism an example is getting rich with own work.

Most socialist/communist ideas are actually against universal income since many socialist realize early on that such system is demotivating and not productive.

People who you refer to are usually those who become socialist only because of the perks(health care, education, public transport ... ) and usually have no idea about the economic aspect of socialism (which is much more complicated)

Serious socialist are usually in it because of economic reasons or worker rights, and find those perks as secondary, me myself being one.
Janez you should be smart enough to remember the days of Yugoslavia where you or your parents lived, where the socialist economy was quite different from mainstream ideas of today. There was no free shit and the market was free on a local level but planned overall

Those people arent empathetic.

As an expeirment i went on /r/politics back at the height of the planned parenthood funding debacle. I replied to a top post and offered to match up to $100 that person's past donation to planned parenthood. If he could provide a receipt less than a year old, I would have donated.

I got the downvote brigade and was replied to with a post along the lines of it being beside the point and the organization shouldn't have to rely on charity.

The empathetic ones are the ones who care about their country. Folks that care about their fellow man, the patriots.

We need more empathetic people and fewer snakes.

You'd be surprised. Commie blocks do tend to be absolute crap and some of the worst apartments I ever saw were in old commieblocks. But it's different when the local city council actually invests in maintaining blocks, buildings are repainted every 10 years or so, the grass is cut once a weak, the garbage men are always on time, the block isn't too big so you don't feel as in a copy/paste maze, the neighbours keep their gardens in front of buildings and the apartment are decent

Unfortunately this is rare, but this is what it looked like 30 years ago, take a look at countries that actually take care of their commieblocks(pic related is Singapore )
