Why so called "liberty" would matter? If one state of reality is more desirable than other, why don't enforce it? Honestly, what would be wrong with removing all the widely understood drugs, porn , degenerate art,"humor", promotion of irrationality etc?

If we never saw homeless people, saw their open sores, drug induced ramblings, their constant itch from lice and scabies.
We would no ill views of homeless life, but because we see failures in real life, we know what not to do.
Let people make mistakes, they will be the biggest preachers against it. All of the people who go to schools and talk about prison are not people with clean records, but people covered in gang tattoo's who got a second chance
People who preach to wear a helmet on motorcycles, were either victims of injury or lost a family member/friend

I see, but it won't be necessary, if there were no way to make this kind of mistakes.

Laws change when the people change. Looks at drugs, legal, then illegal, then legal again
Clothing
Women allowed to dress slutty, men in loincloth
Restrictive clothing
Then slutty again, with men wearing basically yoga pants to show off their dick
Then conservative again (for instance, there were laws on women's bathing suits, and you could be arrest for wearing something too revealing)
Now it's slutty again
Soon with the demographic shifts, women will have to cover up again
