>Put a leaf of a tree on your flag that practically doesn't even exist in your country
Canada, what the fuck are you even doing? Why didn't you put a spruce or something on your flag? That would have made a hell of a lot more sense.
>>132196008
i'm growing a maple in my backyard right now nigger
>>132196111
Then you obviously live in Ontario. Canada's a huge fucking country and Sugar Maples are found in almost none of it.
>>132196111
Do you have a red herring in your pond too?
It's why their original flag was superior.
>>132196209
Btw this would be like putting a Coconut Palm on the American flag because we have them in Florida. That's how much fucking sense this makes.
>>132196008
and yet the east coastie states call themselves 'mountain' states, when the Appalachians are fucking dirt hills compared to the Rockies or the Cascades. I live 500 miles above you and I walk over snow capped mountains 10 times as tall as yours every day for work. Appalachian niggers are pathetic, I spit on them.
>>132196209
yeah but like 40-55% of our population actually lives where maples can grow so it kinda makes sense i guess
>>132196321
>Me big rock
Yeah and the Appalachians actually have biological diversity. Not the same fucking sagebrush, aspens and conifers for 20 states.
>>132196411
I was thinking that, but it's still sort of retarded when you think about how big the country is.
>>132196008
This was Canada in 1825, Rupert's Land was English territory, so when Canada first was founded, the Maple was in the majority of the country.
>>132196294
If the US was founded in Florida, before the whole manifest destiny, then yeah, it would make sense.
>>132196535
>Upper Canada: South
>Lower Canada: North
wut
>>132196535
>upper Canada below lower canada
>>132196736
the "upper" refers to physical elevation. It's similar to how in Germany, Lower Saxony is farther north than Upper Saxony
>>132196008
Canada isn't a real country, anon.
My ancestors have been here twice as long as Canada has been an actual country.
It's a label put onto an idea; the idea has died; and since there's no actual nation of "Canada", there's nothing holding us together except the Canadian state which is run by a retard.
>>132196535
>If the US was founded in Florida, before the whole manifest destiny, then yeah, it would make sense.
Well actually, that isn't far from the truth. The Caribbean was colonized before the Mid-Atlantic states.
>>132197113
>hurr durr muh lands
your distant relatives are siberian eskimos who crossed the land bridge, at least whites actually brought society.
>>132196008
>doesn't even exist in your country
That's because originally 'Canada' referred to area somewhat identical to modern Ontario, and it had LOTS of those leafs.
>>132197121
iirc tampa bay was settled first but jamestown was where the original 13 anglo colonies were founded.
If the spanish colonized further north we'd be another mexico. well, we are right now, but we'd already have been a mexico
>>132196008
>Sugar Maple
Yup. It is like the US having an eagle as a symbol and there are likely more eagles in British Columbia than there are all in the entire US.
>>132196468
a maple leaf looks better than a pile of snow
>>132196736
The river flows north.
>>132196008
I'M GOING TO CUT DOWN THAT FUCKING MAPLE IN MY BACKYARD THIS WEEK!!!
>>132197692
>this btfo the sphere earthers
how does water travel up? CANT EXPLAIN THAT
>>132197750
this is the true shape of the earth
>>132196008
but the green area contains 99% of Canada's population
>>132196278
The old flag also featured maple leaves, albeit less prominently
>>132197341
>My ancestors have been here twice as long as Canada has been an actual country.
He's clearly saying his ancestors where British or French settlers that existed on the land long before the state of Canada existed.
Fuck people on /pol/ are so easy to jump to conclusions. Try just reading peoples post more than once so you don't come across like someone that has a sub-saharan african IQ.
>>132197750
>up is East at my home
>up is South in Canada
>ywn pass through the firmament
>>132197664
I mean it looks nice, but it's pretty out of place insofar as the rest of the country other than Ontario is concerned.
>>132198693
Maple syrup is also a big feature of the traditional cooking of Quebec
>>132197341
I'm talking about the colonists.
Canada is 150 years old.
My ancestors arrived in the 1600s (400 years ago), as I'm part French, and the 1700s (300 years ago), because of my Scottish and English ancestors.
From at least 1750 till now, there hasn't been a single generation of my ancestors that were born outside of what would be known as "Canada" 100 years after that.
>>132197113
you're right though, theyve been pusing this ugly looking leaf shit for 50 years now. Its really amazing how fast nationalism sets into a country that doesnt even own its own land.
>>132196008
>Canada, what the fuck are you even doing? Why didn't you put a spruce or something on your flag? That would have made a hell of a lot more sense.
Canada literally has a strategic Maple Syrup Reserve.
